Sports naturopathy is a specialised branch of naturopathic medicine which focuses on optimising athletic performance, prevention and recovery of sports-related injury and illness, and supporting overall wellbeing of athletes. This whole body approach aims to support and balance all body systems for optimal performance
That's why I support athletes of all levels, recreational to elite. Wherever you are on your performance journey, I am here to assist you.
We unpack what has been going on for you and your main reason for seeking naturopathic care.
From birth until now, we discuss your health history to understand your HOW & WHY. Here we are putting the puzzle pieces together.
I love pathology! Any testing or investigations you have had previously is of very high value - it's an extra piece of the puzzle.
It's important to know where you are in your training/events calendar, and identifying times where you may need extra support.
Your dietary patterns will change depending on your training/events. Our aim here is not to overhaul your performance diet, but make small, meaningful tweaks where possible.
It's important to understand what you are currently taking to ensure we check for any safety concerns and pharmaceutical interactions. This also may indicate what has/hasn't worked for you in the past.
The most important part! What can I do for YOU!
After an in-depth consultation (generally 75mins), we create a treatment plan with simple and effective strategies to get you on your way. This may also include herbal and nutraceutical supplementation (within ASADA & WADA guidelines).
As your health shifts through different stages, your treatment plan will also evolve. It's important to have regular consultations so that we can adapt treatment plans and strategies for where you are in your journey.
During our consultation, if there are any areas of your health which may need further support, we endeavour to always refer you on to the most appropriate practitioner. I believe in staying in our lane of expertise. I am not your coach, physio, acupuncturist, massage therapist, or dietitian!
